The calendar for Fortnite's newest season has yet again left players asking when it will begin. Here’s the short answer! Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 will go live on June 5th, 2026. This date gives you the exact moment All signs still indicate that this will be a standard Season transition featuring a live event, considerable downtime, and very busy launch. Some players were worried that they wouldn’t be able to play due to competitive dates being changed, however, Epic clearly stated via Twitter (FortniteStatus): There is no delay to Season 3.

When will the other seasons of Fortnite begin

Currently sesaon's last day is June 5, 2026, approximately seventy-eight (78) days from March 19. You can verify in-game by seeing the countdown timer for Battle Pass items since they remain visible for that time. You could also verify this by checking out the fortnite roadmap (fortnite.com) or keeping an eye on FortniteStatus for the date.

Dataminers NotPaloLeaks and LooloWrld put forth the rumors regarding a delay after they noticed that Showdown had a competitive .challange date change that put Showdowns compititiveness on June 20, 2026; this was odd because it's suspiciously close to how long they extended the previous seasons (15 days). Epic's answer was very clear-cut; the change of the dates of challenges and quests due to testing is sporadic and isn't a good indication of the delay of a season.

As of right now the date for Chapter 7 Season 2 of Fortnite is still confirmed to have ended on June 5, 2026 and Chapter 7 Season 3 was scheduled to begin at this date.

The Start Date And Time Of The New Season Of Fortnite

The matchmaking in Fortnite will be taken offline 30 minutes before the server downtime starts. Chapter 7 Season 2 went offline for server maintenance at 2:00 AM (ET) on March 19, 2023. It was expected to come back online 5 hours later at approximately 7:00 AM (ET) on March 19, 2023. The timing of Season 3's start is expected to follow a very similar pattern.

Below are the regions and corresponding times that we expect the new season will begin based on what we've seen from previous seasons:

Region Expected Downtime Start Estimated Servers Back
US East (ET) 2:00 AM 7:00 AM
US West (PT) 11:00 PM (June 4) 4:00 AM
UK (GMT/BST) 7:00 AM 12:00 PM
Europe (CET/CEST) 8:00 AM 1:00 PM
Gulf (GST) 11:00 AM 4:00 PM
Japan (JST) 3:00 PM 8:00 PM
Australia (AEST) 5:00 PM 10:00 PM

Please remember that these estimated server times are NOT guaranteed, but are based off of prior Fortnite server updates. If you’re playing on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, there is a chance that you will be able to download the latest patch before the servers go down to ease the wait, although this is still dependent on location.

Dates for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3

The most reliable indicator of Chapter 7 Season 2’s end is the Battle Pass countdown timer currently displayed in the lobby screen.

This timer originally showed a count down to June 5, which also matches what was discovered by dataminers earlier in the Season. So it stands to reason that June 5 is when the new Season will begin.

In addition, we know Epic has been gathering story points for the Chapter 7 Season 2 end by releasing the Fortnite Showdown Roadmap.

This roadmap has the last live event of Chapter 7 Season 2 scheduled at the end of the Chapter (to end the Team Foundation vs Team Ice King conflict) before preparing for the next Chapter. Epic has also stated that the time building up to the final live event of Chapter 7 Season 2 will be used to create something spectacular for the end of the Chapter, which mirrors the previous Chapters first half finale events.

The confusion last week came from the Ranked and Competitive Schedule changes and deadlines regarding the Battle Royale season calendars. It was suggested by the Fortnite Underground Community report that the delays may be because of differences between the internal timelines for launches of Ranked 2.0 or a delay in launch entirely. Epic clarified this with their response through @FortniteStatus, so if you are attempting to find out what the actual start date of next season (Season X) will be, refer to the following:

  • The timer on the Battle Pass found in-game.

  • The Official Posts made by @FortniteStatus.

  • The Fortnite Roadmap found at fortnite.com.

Anything pulled from backend quest dates is still speculative until Epic has made an official announcement.

Preparing for the New Season of Fortnite

Since Showdown nears its conclusion, focusing on completing your Battle Pass should be your primary goal, if you have not done so already. The quickest way to reach Tier 100 is still by completing daily and weekly quest lines. In addition, since the quest structure this season revolves around the Team Foundation vs. Team Ice King Rivalry, clearing Rivalry milestones prior to season reset will be critically important if you wish to have all faction-related cosmetics locked in permanently.

Finally, you will want to review your quest log and claim any remaining unclaimed items. This includes XP Boosters, Sprays, a Loading Screen, and any other type of limited time reward earned by completed Challenge Chains. When v41.00 goes live, any portions of Challenge Chains or Quests from this Season that are still unclaimed will likely disappear. In particular, the disappearance of any unclaimed portions could be especially problematic given that this is also a factor in the Showdown Act 2 Questline, added during the Daigo and Elites update on April 16. You might want to finish a couple of rare things before the 5th of June:

  • Finish your remaining tiers on your battle pass!

  • Claim all the quest rewards (especially any that are time-limited).

  • Spend your saved-up bars. Remember that they don’t carry over from season to season.

  • Check the date that your Fortnite Crew subscription will be billed so that you can make sure to get the most out of it around the change of the season and get what you want in your current battle pass as well as what your options will be in the new season.

  • Spend wisely your V-Bucks on whichever battle pass(es) you choose to buy so that you have the most value for your money.

Of all these items; Bars are the biggest one. Because they reset at the end of each season, you should not have any reason to hold on to them. If you have saved up a lot of them; just go spend them before they reset.

Fortnite New Season Leaks And Future Content

Chapter 7 Season 3 Overall Theme

Epic has been basing all of chapter 7 around the Dark Voyager storyline; thus, season 3 will push that story even further into the next generation. The Ice King and Foundation Battle and Showdown will come to an end, and the Zero Point shards being separated throughout the island will lay out the groundwork for chapter 7 climate change; which has been in the game since Season 11 and hasn’t been settled yet.

The June launch will most likely mean that there will also be a summer event. Fortnite likes to run events on top of an active main season for many years; this summer event will include new Limited-time Modes, Free cosmetics, reward challenges, and summer decorations added to the island. The players will get to enjoy some fun activities during season 3 of the video game - even when this season has a darker theme overall.

Recent content updates have provided some indication of a possible return of the Imagined Order to the narrative of the story so far. The previously mentioned return of Slone in shows like Showdown - as well as with Daigo and Elite Stronghold - supports much of the speculation of this coming to fruition. Since the Imagined Order has not had much of an impact on the game narrative since chapter 4 began, a return could escalate the plot of the Dark Voyager storyline at a fast pace.

Battle Pass and Collaborations

There is a lot of momentum with the collaboration between 007: First Light and Fortnite. There has been a history of leaks concerning 007: First Light; however, the release dates will coincide quite well together so if there was to be a Bond skin in the Battle Pass or an Item Shop bundle for launch week that contained Bond-type accessories (tuxedo type and 007 spy equipment), I cant imagine that it would not follow standard Fortnite collaboration guidelines.

Another long running rumor of a collaboration between Overwatch and Fortnite is on the table again. FireMonkey and several others have been able to corroborate that Overwatch was originally scheduled to be in Chapter 7 season two, but when there were a number of leaks concerning this storyline/character - it was removed from season 2 to allow more time to prepare for their introduction. If that is true, then Chapter 7, Season 3 is likely going to be when they're revealed; of course, we've all heard Tracer and Genji as the most likely Heroes to come to Fortnite.

There's also Masters of the Universe, which we first learned about by a contractor that was turned leaker (AdiraFNInfo). The timing is hard to ignore with the new Masters of the Universe Movie scheduled to release on June 5, 2026 (which is approximately when Season 3 will begin) so revealing He-Man and Skeletor on Day 1 is significantly more logical than revealing them randomly later in the season.

Changes to Game Play at launch

Like every major Fortnite season reset, Chapter 7 Season 3's Reset of loot pool refresh will likely happen on Launch Day. With the Showdown Line Up Weapons listed (which include the Vector 7 DMR, Chaos Reloader Shotgun, and Bouncing Boomstick) that are most likely being vaulted as the latest weapons of Chapter 7 Season 3's theme will become available. It's also likely that some of the Mythic and Exotic items connected to Ice King Gauntlets and Foundation's Rift Rifle will rotate out making room for a new series of Boss Drops.

You can also count on having numerous new Map Shake Ups because of the Chapter 7 Season 2 Live Event. Epic uses live events to make permanent visual and gameplay changes to the island and I believe this one will be no different than other events in previous chapters transitions. Expect at least 2-3 named POIs to be immediately altered; if the IO rumors turn out to be true, potential for new underground bases or vault like locations could be certain.

An additional thing to keep an eye on is the final outcome of the live event rewards. The Event at the end of Chapter 7 Season 2 will determine whether Frost-Ready Foundation or Exalted Frost Ice King will permanently lock in for Battle Pass Owners. If you have heavily invested your Showdown Cosmetics Track you should not miss this event.

Conclusion

The answer remains simple: The new Season of Fortnite is scheduled for June 5, 2026, in approximately the time frame of 2:00 AM ET and 30 minutes prior will be when matchmaking shuts down. The delay rumors were promptly denied by Epic via an official note on @FortniteStatus, therefore, June 5 remains the primary date to be concerned with.

Prior to the Reset make sure that all Battle Passes are complete, collect any remaining glitch rewards, and spend any remaining Bars so as not to waste any items. The upcoming Season 3 will be a significant season as collabs on Day 1 could be Masters of the Universe, Overwatch, 007 First Light content, and the next stage of the Dark Voyager Storyline.
